Jan. 10

Aid call: 3:50 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to help a middle-aged man who wanted treatment to deal with his alcoholism. A private ambulance transported the man to Auburn Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.

Jan. 11

Aid call: 2:46 p.m., Pacific). Firefighters helped an elderly woman at a local restaurant who had fallen and hurt her knee. Firefighters treated the woman at the scene, and a private ambulance transported her to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Aid call: 2:35 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters examined and helped a man who was acting confused. A private ambulance transported the man to St. Francis Medical Center for further evaluation.

Jan. 13

Aid call: 12:19 p.m., (Lea Hill). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to help a young girl complaining of a possible allergic reaction to peanuts. Firefighters evaluated the girl and arranged for a private ambulance to transport her to ARMC.

Jan. 14

Apartment fire: 3:36 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of smoke and flames coming from an apartment in the 2400 block of F Street Southeast and finding fire in the living room of one unit quickly extinguished the fire. No responders or civilians were injured. The Red Cross helped the two displaced occupants. The South King Fire Investigation Task Force is trying to determine what caused the fire.

Jan. 15

Aid call: 12:50 p.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped a small boy who had accidentally sprayed himself in the face with pepper spray typically used for self-defense. After firefighters checked the boy for injury to his airway, they taught the child’s caregiver how to remove what was left of the spray. Firefighters determined the child’s medical condition was stable and that he was not injured, so they left him at home.

Jan. 16

Aid Call: 6:24 p.m. (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched VRFA firefighters to the Supermall to help a young boy who had jumped out of his father’s car after a domestic violence dispute. The boy sustained minor injuries and firefighters took him to ARMC. Auburn police were following up.
