Valley Regional Fire Authority firefighters put out a crawl space fire under a home in the 100 block of Glacier Avenue South in Pacific on Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters arrived to find the foundation crawl space and attic area of a single-story home charged with smoke. Firefighters made access to the first floor and utilized a thermal camera to detect the fire’s heat signature. A chainsaw was used to gain access through the floor into the foundation’s crawl space area.
The fire was located and was quickly extinguished. Crews ventilated the structure and confirmed that all occupants were safely out.
There were no injuries to firefighters. One occupant was treated for minor smoke inhalation and was left at the scene.
VRFA fire investigators are determining the fire’s cause and origin.
