Washington State Patrol reports that a 51-year-old woman from Shelton has died from her injuries following a June 25 traffic crash on State Route 18 in Auburn.

The woman’s name has not been released.

The incident occurred just after midnight June 25. According to the state patrol, she had been traveling on eastbound SR 18 and was approaching SR 167 when her Nissan Altima struck the right-side barrier. The vehicle then crossed to the left side and struck another barrier.

The driver was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center where she was pronounced dead July 1.

Washington State Patrol is investigating the case and reports that drugs and/or alcohol were involved, and that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
