Alberto (Al) Carranza Jr., age 87, was born on November 28, 1935 and passed on September 21, 2023. Alberto attended Mabton High School and then dedicated 20 years of his life to serving his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. During his time of service, Alberto married the love of his life, Holanda Guerra, on November 2nd, 1957 and they welcomed their three children, Holanda (Tweetie), Alberto III (Bert), and Sabrina. They were stationed at various duty stations including Malstrom Air Force Base in Montana, Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico and finally Mcchord Air Force Base in Washington at which time they laid down roots and bought a home in Auburn, Washington. Following his military service, he ventured into a new chapter as an entrepreneur, opening Villa Barber Shop in Auburn, WA. It was more than a business—it became a community hub where stories were shared and connections were made. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and service.
Alberto is preceded in death by his daughter Sabrina Dahlquist and grandson, Michael Dahlquist. He is survived by his devoted wife of over 65 years, Holanda, daughter Tweetie, son Bert, granddaughters Tiffany and Danielle, great-grandchildren Alexis, Mackenzie, Luca, Lilah, Coen, and great-great-grandson Kellen. A memorial service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent on November 3rd, 2023 at 3:00PM followed by a gathering at Mazatlan restaurant in Auburn.
