Dolores Jones Kyle | Obituary

Dolores Jones Kyle passed away in Auburn, February 19th, 2022. Born in Seattle, December 30th, 1930 to Henry and Josie Jones, her family relocated to Sequim WA, where she lived for a few short years before relocating back to Seattle where she met and married Bill Kyle in October of 1949. Dolores and her husband Bill moved to the Auburn area in 1973 and bought their “forever” home there in 1978. Dolores and Bill became very involved in the Auburn community. Starting with their love of theatre, they became members of the “Little Detroit of The West Players”, with Bill directing and Dolores acting. Dolores owned two businesses in her life. Superior Traders, which started in Seattle and Superior Insurance, which Bill opened when they moved to Auburn. Along with the theatre, Dolores also belonged to the Kiwanis club, Soroptimist and was a board member of AWB and the Auburn Symphony. She was also very much involved, along with her husband Bill, with the Auburn Food Bank. Devoted to her church, she belonged to the Women’s Society there. Dolores and Bill also received the Hometown Hero Award. In her personal life, Dolores loved entertaining, cooking, gardening and travel.

Dolores is survived by two sons, Stephen Kyle and Brad Kyle; daughter, Monica Orsini (Dan) with grandchildren Cristina and Kyle Orsini; brother Frank Jones (Jeanette) and eight nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill and Sister Diane Spearow. We will all miss her dearly.

Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 26th at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 505 17th Street S.E. Auburn, WA. With reception following. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Auburn Food Bank “Back Pack Program” and Ray of Hope Homeless Shelter. P.O. Box 464, Auburn WA, 98071.
