ENID RUTH HASBARGEN

Enid, 79, passed away November 29, 2018 at home with her loving family at her side. With her positive attitude and strong will, she battled cancer for two years. Enid was born on February 8, 1939 in Jackson, Minnesota to the proud parents of Ellsworth and Mabel (Olson) Nasby.

She received her education in the Jackson public schools graduating in 1957, and attended Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa for a short time. She returned home taking employment in Jackson, until she married her high school sweetheart David Hasbargen on January 31, 1959 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson, Minnesota, where she was also baptized and confirmed.

Shortly after their marriage she and Dave moved to the Seattle area. To this union three wonderful boys joined them; Dean, Wayne and Mark.

She spent the rest of her life as a happy homemaker for her family, enjoying them especially on holidays and special occasions. Grandma’s place, with her love, was the place to be.

Enid enjoyed gardening, baking, knitting, watching and caring for her backyard birds, and fishing in eastern Washington. She also enjoyed returning home to Minnesota, trips to Branson, Missouri, and time spent in Mesa, Arizona with family and friends.

Upon her passing she leaves a loving husband David; children, Dean (Laurie) Hasbargen, Wayne (Bettyanne) Hasbargen, Mark (Susan Wines) Hasbargen, brothers, Lowell (LoyAnn) Nasby, Mark (Marilyn) Nasby, sister, Marlene (Clem) Grover, sister-in-law, Clarice Nasby and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, friends and loved ones. To know Enid was to love her, and we are all better for having had the privilege of sharing in her life.

Enid was preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Mabel Nasby, brother Paul Nasby, niece Kristin, and father in law Frank (Alma) Hasbargen.

As written by brother Mark to whom we’ll be forever grateful for making one last trip out here to be with his sister and the rest of our family as she left us, thank you again, along with her dear sister, Marlene, who was able to share precious time with her shortly before her passing.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Kent Lutheran Church, 336 2nd Ave S, Kent WA. Memorials may be made in Enid’s name to, Kent Lutheran Church. Condolences may be sent to Dave Hasbargen, 19823 SE Black Diamond Road, Auburn WA 98092.
