Frederick Laurence Hahn, M.D.

Born on February 1, 1922, in Redfield, South Dakota, and passed away on September 24, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marveene, and their two sons; Larry (Debbie) and Greg (Kristin), four grandchildren, Brian (Julie), Jason, Tyler, and Karly, and three great-grandsons; Austin, Dillion, and Justin. Most of Fred’s younger years were spent in Nebraska, Costa Rica and Walla Walla, where his mother and father were educators and missionaries. While attending Walla Walla College he met Marveene and they were married in Seattle in 1943. He earned his Medical Doctor degree at Loma Linda University Medical School in 1948. Dr. Hahn was a Captain in the Army and served in a medical unit during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. After military service, he and Marveene returned to Auburn where he joined doctors; Giere, Eidal, Shapard, Wilde, and Ansingh at the Auburn Doctors’ Clinic. Dr. Hahn spent the next 41 years in medical practice at the clinic and Auburn General Hospital, retiring in 1992. Fred had a passion for golf, and he and his wife were members at Meridian Valley CC in Kent for 16 years.Memorial donations may be made to; Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Parkinson Foundation or American Diabetes Association.Funeral services are entrusted to Price-Helton Funeral Home.
