Grace Louise Johnson (Alcorn), 89

Grace was the second oldest of eight children born in Seattle, Washington to Louis and Margueritte Alcorn. She graduated from Auburn high school and lived and worked in Seattle. She met and later married the love of her life on April 18, 1941. They raised 5 children at their farm on the Enumclaw plateau. Many knew her as manager of the Valley Supply Federal Credit Union in Auburn, and later as a persistent sales woman whose motto was, “Put an Electrolux in every home!”She was a long time member of Wabash Presbyterian Church. As the family matriarch, she loved and cared for all, and was known to her grandchildren and many others as “Grandma J” and “Grandma Moo”. She loved life, her church, the ocean (mostly for it’s clams), was an avid gardener who loved a garden without weeds, and insisted that it wasn’t home without cows in her field.She was preceded in death by her parents, son Dennis Ryan, husband John Dennis, sister Alice (Aggie) Meinert, brothers Harold, Doug, Bill, Don, and Earl.Survived by her children Sharon Holtz (Chuck), Karen Harms (Ben), Joyce Draper (Jim), Cliff Johnson (Nancy), 9 grandchildren (Lorri, Terri, Richie, Greg, Tonya, Jason, Jimmy, Corina and Lauren), 14 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, brother Bud Alcorn (Ilene), sisters-in-law Barb and Norma Alcorn, and numerous nieces and nephews, and too many close friends to list.Memorial service was held at Wabash Presbyterian Church on December 3, 2008. Private internment to follow.
