Gwendolyn Garrett Klinkel

Gwendolyn Garrett Klinkel, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 30, 2013. She was laid to rest alongside her late husband, Arthur Klinkel, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Enumclaw during a private family graveside service on April 4. Gwen was born in Auburn on January 11, 1922 to parents Thomas and Clara Garrett. She was reared near Wabash Presbyterian Church, a church that her grandfather helped found. She attended school in Enumclaw and married Art on October 4, 1941. They had four children: The late Susanne Handley, Thomas (and Bev) Klinkel, Beth (and Tom) Sorrell, and Anita (and Bonny) Teernstra. She was a grandmother nine times and a great-grandmother of ten.Her family would like to invite all of her friends to a Celebration of Life on Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 PM in the Rainier Room at the Truitt Building located at 102 West Main Street in downtown Auburn.
