Harold (Bill) W. Taylor
Harold (Bill) W. Taylor, age 83, passed away on May 25, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on May 28, 1930, in Harrisburg, PA., to James and Hazel Taylor.
Bill was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.
He was a Penn State graduate and received his PhD from the University of Washington. He was one of the early founders of Green River Community College and retired as a Vice President.
Bill is survived by his wife Patti Taylor, children David Taylor (Lydia), Mark Taylor (Lindi), Jeff Taylor and Cathy Berg (Scott), and his step-children Bob Larson (Leslie), Tim Larson (Lorrie), Hal Larson (Jodi) and Annette York (Jim). He also had 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Stanley Taylor and Kandee Taylor.
An Interment with a Military Service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on Thursday, June 5th, at 1:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service immediately following at Lakeland Hills Community Center, 5801 Lakeland Hills Way SE, Auburn.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a memorial contribution may be sent to Green River Community College Scholarship Fund in Bill’s memory.
Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
