Born in Jersey City, New Jersey to John J. Ruane and Ethel Ruane (Burch) on July 21, 1938 and passed away on August 12 in Auburn. John graduated from the University of Dayton in 1961 with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Boeing for over 30 years of his 40 year career as a stress engineer. Beloved husband, brother and father, John was a fiercely independent and intelligent man who was generous and supportive.John was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Ruane of New York, wife Normalee Ruane and son John Lee Ruane. He is survived by his sister: Kathy Perrelle of New York, daughters: Jackie Hogan and Susanne Hanlon, son: Michael Ruane, and ten grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Price-Helton in Auburn on Sunday 8/17 Noon – 6pm. A Rosary will be held at 6pm on Sunday at Price-Helton. Funeral Mass will be at St. John the Baptist in Covington on Monday at 11am with burial at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery following the service.
