Maxine Burson

Maxine Burson was born in Kingsley, Iowa March 20, 1920 to Oscar and Amelia Twogood and passed away May 14, 2012. They moved shortly thereafter to Spokane, Washington. Maxine as a young teen moved with her family to Columbia Falls, Montana where she graduated from high school as class valedictorian. She entered Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane in 1936. She graduated in 1939 and moved to Vancouver, Washington where she worked as a nurse for the county hospital. There she met William Burson who she married September 2, 1940. Their family moved to Auburn, Washington in 1952. Maxine first worked for Auburn General Hospital and then went to work for Dr. Andrew Bloom and later on for Dr. Myles Jones as their office nurse. She retired in May 1983. Maxine and Bill traveled and enjoyed their retirement until Bill passed away in 1998.Maxine is survived by her two daughters Janice Binetti (John), Joyce Erath (Thomas), four grandsons, Anthony and Darren Erath (Krista), John and Michael Binetti, and three great-grandchildren, Bryce, Madison, and Aubrey Erath. There will be a graveside service at Auburn’s Mountain View Cemetery at 11:00 AM Friday May 18, 2012. Arrangements by Klontz Funeral Home.
