Salvatore (Sal) E. Perry | Obituary

Salvatore (Sal) E Perry was born in Los Angeles, California to Angeline and Lester Perry on Dec 08, 1933. Sal moved with his mother and younger brother, Dick, to Auburn in 1946. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1952, then went on to join the US Air Force. In 1954, he was stationed in Leicestershire, England where he met the love of his life, Janis. They had 3 daughters and came back to the US in 1958.

Going back and forth between the US and England from 1953-1968, Sal was transferred from LA, California, to a tour in Korea in the fall of 1968, when he insisted his wife and then 4 daughters, would be transferred back to his home town of Auburn. He had to be sent home by the Red Cross July 1969, for the birth of their youngest daughter, Tina when complications needed to be addressed.

Sal retired from the US Airforce after 21 years. Ready for a new challenge, he started with the Boeing company in Renton, and after being there for 15 years, retired at 55 years old.

He loved family, gardening, fishing, camping, and meeting with the Son’s of Italy members since 1992. His mother had also been a standing member there. He loved the old stories of the Italian’s more than anything, and bar tending at all the meetings and picnics for over 20 years.

After 67 years of being with Janis, his is survived by his 3 daughters, Linda (Cal)Stewart, Vicky Myers and Jeanette Perry (Jerry), his 6 grandchildren, Nicole Calkins, Curtis Stewart, Amy Nash, Colin and Cameron Stewart and Tina Fisher; his 8 Great grandchildren and his 2 Plus 2 more arriving later this year, Great Great grandchildren.

Sal is proceeded in death by Tina and Jacqueline, his daughters, his brother Dick and parents Angeline and Lester.

Services at Holy Family Church of Auburn on March 11th, at 10:30. Burial will be at Mt View Cemetery, for the family. Reception to follow at the Holy Family Church Hall.
