Vivian Moore, age 83, passed away on August 29, 2008 in Port Townsend, WA after several years with dementia. She was surrounded by her husband of 65 years and all her children and their spouses. Vivian grew up in Enid, Oklahoma where she was the president of the local drum and bugle corps and a champion drummer.In 1942 she met the love of her life, John Moore. They were married in Ft. Meyers, Florida. After the war they settled in Auburn, WA and raised their four children. In later years they restored a farm in Vader, WA; built a house in Port Townsend, WA; and returned to Auburn to be near their friends until their final move to Port Townsend in 2006. Vivian enjoyed her family, great circle of friends, skiing, bridge, danc-ing, knitting and travel with her husband in their small plane.She is survived by her husband, John; her brother, Duane Baker (Wichita, KS); her son, Paul Moore (Lynda) of Arlington, WA; her daughters, Rona Delay (Gene) of Burlington, VT, Keri Johns (Chris) of Port Townsend, WA, and Karen Sunderland ( Dave) of Salem, OR; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.Vivian was a gentle and kind woman who will be missed by all those who knew her. Please join us for a celebration of her life at the Eagles Club in Auburn on Saturday, November 22 between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for food and drink and stories of her life.
