Saturday, Nov. 29 is Shop Local and Shop Small Day throughout the nation.
The downtown Auburn area has shops open from AgriShop ACE Hardware to Becky’s Bling, Shoe Forest & More to Classic Farmhouse home decorating, Hills Comics to InTRICKit Electronic Console Repairs and Sales.
Every year, Black Friday advertisements hit newspapers and websites with fantastic sales for holiday shopping. Downtown Auburn businesses invite you to shop locally and support downtown Auburn businesses. Participating businesses will stay open until 6 p.m. Saturday.
“Last year, I explore to see how much Christmas shopping I could accomplish in downtown Auburn,” said Laura Westergard, executive director of the Auburn Downtown Association, “and it was awesome to complete over three-quarters of my shopping there. Downtown shopping gives Auburn residents unique gift shopping opportunities.”
The Auburn Downtown Association has been active in bringing events to downtown Auburn for more than 25 years. Other events include the Auburn Art Walk in May and September, the City of Auburn birthday celebration in June.
The Association works collaboratively with the City of Auburn, the Chamber of Commerce, and other organizations to enrich the city’s center. Please visit www.auburndt.org for more information on upcoming events.
