Swimmers from the Auburn and Auburn Mountainview girls swimming teams compete this Friday and Saturday in the Washington State 4A and 3A Girls Swimming Championships at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
Auburn Moutainview senior Hanna Houck captured the district title in diving with a 333.20 total.
Houck finished eighth at last year’s 3A state meet with a 301.75 score.
Lion sophomore Lauren Kearney qualified for state in the 50-yard freestyle with a sixth-place, 26.61 second time at districts.
The Auburn Mountainview girls 400 freestyle team of Savanna Warner, Avalon Lanz, Jessica Sudweeks and Kearney also moved on to state with a sixth-place 4:03.38 time.
Auburn Mountainivew finished eighth in the team competition at districts with 85 points. Kennedy Catholic captured the district team title with 211 points.
From Auburn, senior diver Hailey Kessler punched her ticket to state with a second-place 354.65 point finish at the West Central District 3 meet at Curtis High School.
Kessler finished eighth at last year’s 4A state meet with a 309.10 score.
