Several Auburn and Auburn Riverside baseball players were named to the All-South Puget Sound League North 4A squad this past week.

Several Auburn and Auburn Riverside baseball players were named to the All-South Puget Sound League North 4A squad this past week.

Auburn Riverside senior Brian Darby was a first-team selection as a pitcher and a second-team pick as an outfielder.

Darby had a 6-3 record for the Ravens, with a 1.75 ERA. In 52 innings pitched, he gave up just 49 hits, striking out 53 and holding opposing batters to a .233 average.

At the dish, Darby hit .301 with eight RBIs and five doubles. He scored 16 times and had 22 singles. In 90 plate appearances, Darby struck out just six times. He also had 15 stolen bases.

Also earning a double nod was Ravens junior Noah Freelund, who was picked to the second team as a pitcher and utility infielder.

Freelund notched a 1.96 ERA with a 3-4 record on the hill. In 46.1 innings pitched, he gave up 33 hits, walked 17 and struck out 50.

At the plate, Freelund hit .333 with five RBIs and two doubles and scored eight runs. He had a .945 fielding percentage with just four errors on the season.

Also earning a second-team nod for Auburn Riverside was senior third baseman Andy Santos.

Seniors Skylar Erban, Joey Galeno, Kevin Thomson and Brady Cummings were named honorable mentions.

Auburn Riverside finished the season 11-11, 8-8 in the SPSL North 4A.

From Auburn, senior catcher Connor McCoy was a first-team selection. In 19 games, McCoy hit .308 with 10 RBIs, three doubles and two home runs.

Also named as honorable mentions for the Trojans were juniors Casey Manning and Nick Kaatz, and sophomore Dillon O’Grady.

Auburn finished the season with 3-17, 3-13 in league.

Kentridge’s Joe Wainhouse was named league Most Valuable Player and Jefferson’s Joe Townsend was selected Coach of the Year.
