Auburn falls to Curtis 53-45 in SPSL sub-district tourney; Mountainview ends season with 69-59 loss to Kennedy Catholic | Boys Basketball

Kevin Henderson’s game-high 19 pints weren’t enough to lift the No. 4 Trojans past South Puget Sound League South 4A champs Curtis, with Auburn falling 53-45 to the Vikings in the SPSL tourney at the Friday ShoWare Center.

The teams were tied 23-23 at the half and battled through the third quarter before Curtis (16-5) took over in the fourth quarter.

Curtis’ 6-foot-5, 245-pound senior Darius Johnson-Wilson dominated the boards, snagging 23 rebounds to go with 14 points in the contest. Teammate DaVonte Lacy added 18 points, five rebounds and three blocks.

The Trojans will play either Bethel or Kentlake this Wedenesday at Auburn High School in the West Central District tournament.
