Auburn Mountainview fell 49-7 to Sumner in nonleague action at Auburn Memorial Stadium on Friday. The fourth-ranked Spartans held the Lions to just 24 rushing yards and capitalized on three turnovers.

The fourth-ranked Spartans held the Lions to just 24 rushing yards and capitalized on three turnovers.

Sophomore quarterback Gresch Jensen was 9 of 18 in the air for 141 yards, including a touchdown and interception, for Auburn Mountainview. Jensen also had 17 yards on the ground on nine carries.

Senior Joey Cassano had four receptions for 58 yards and junior Jason Sele grabbed a 29-yard touchdown pass.

Defensively,, junior Aeron Watson had 13 solo tackles with senior Ray Hardaway adding nine.

The Lions travel to Tacoma for a nonleague game at Mount Tahoma (0-1) at 7 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 13.
