Auburn Mountainview takes 28th at 3A state swimming and diving

The Auburn Mountainview girls swimming and diving team took home 28th at the state 3A meet last weekend at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

Diver Jessica Nuttall captured 13th with a 261.50-point total in the finals. Juanita’s Celia Pinczower was first with a score of 404.30.

In the 50-meter freestyle, sophomore Taylor Lavine tied for 18th place with Mercer Island’s Christina Williamson, with both girls posting a time of 25.93 seconds. Hazen’s Lauren Kauffman won with a time of 23.31.

The Lions also sent two relay teams – 200 and 400 free – to the meet. The Lions’ 200 free squad – Lavine, Amanda Nuttall, Elizabeth Le and Elise Duncan – finished 14th with a time of 1:48.49.

Hanford grabbed first in the event with a 1:38.45.

In the 400 free, Lavine, Duncan, Nuttall and Le finished 20th with a 4:03.84 time. Shorewood won the event in 3:37.65.

Mercer Island came out on top for the team title with 278 points.
