The defending state 3A champion Auburn Mountainview baseball team clinched the South Puget Sound League 3A title for the second straight year this weekend.
After beating Decatur (11-4, 14-6) 2-0 on Thursday the Lions (11-4 league, 13-7 overall) needed an Enumclaw (8-7, 11-9) victory over Decatur on Friday. The Hornets delivered with a 4-2 win.
The Lions own the tiebreaker over Decatur courtesy of their 2-1 regular season record against the Gators.
Auburn Mountainview will open play in the SPSL 3A/Seamount League sub-district tournament at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Kennedy Catholic (11-2, 12-3)at Auburn Mountainview.
