Auburn Mountainview’s Fausko commits to WWU | Prep volleyball

Auburn Mountainview volleyball standout Kelsey Fausko is headed to Western Washington University to continue her playing career. "We have a strong middle corps coming in, and Kelsey makes it even better," WWU coach Diane Flick said. "She is not only a great player but she can really make me laugh. I think we will have some great bantering battles." Fausko, a 6-foot-1, senior middle hitter, helped lead Auburn Mountainview to its second straight South Puget Sound League 3A title with a 9-1 league record, 17-6 overall, last season. The Lions made their sixth straight state tournament appearance. Fausko, a four-year letter winner and two-year team captain, was chosen SPSL 3A MVP for the second consecutive season. She also was selected to the Washington Senior All-State volleyball team. Fausko plans to major in media design and production. WWU finished second in the NCAA Division II Great Northwest Athletic Conference in 2011 with a 14-4 conference record, 16-6 overall.
