Auburn Mountainview junior Maggie Henderson went 2-1 at last weekend’s West Central 3A Bi-District tournament, earning the No. 3 seed into this week’s state 3A girls tournament.

Auburn Mountainview junior Maggie Henderson went 2-1 at last weekend’s West Central 3A Bi-District tournament, earning the No. 3 seed into this week’s state 3A girls tournament.

Henderson – who qualified for state last year with doubles partner and sister Molly Henderson – won her first-round match against Camas’ Lily Hsu, before losing to eventual district champ Lauren McCann of Capitol.

In the third-place match, Henderson defeated Yelm’s Emma Leimbeck 6-3, 6-2 to advance to state.

Henderson will play Mercer Island’s Karissa Walker in the first round of the state championships on Friday. State matches will be at the Tri-City Court Club and Kamiakan High School in Kennewick.
