Auburn Mountainview’s Kelly Campbell and Austin Geiger make cut for round two at state 3A golf championships, Riverside’s Hegge moves on in 4A tourney | Golf

Auburn Mountainview’s Kelly Campbell and Austin Geiger both made the cut at the Washington State 3A Boys Golf tournament and will continue play tomorrow at Canyon Lake Golf Course in Kennewick.

Campbell shot a first round 3-over par 75 to keep his state title dream alive. Campbell’s score was good for a six-way tie for 16th place and is five strokes off the leader, Scott Kim of Hanford, who shot a 70.

Teammate Geiger shot a 6-over par 78 to move on to day two.

Campbell tees off tomorrow at 8:42 a.m. with Geiger getting started at 8:06 a.m.

Auburn Mountainview’s Chris Quick shot a 84 and did not make the cut, as did teammate Griffin Lamb, who had an 85.

In the 3A girls competition Julie Heffernan shot a 19-over par 91, tied for 42nd and did not make the cut.

ALSO: In the boys 4A tournament Auburn Riverside’s Dustin Hegge shot a 7-over par 79 to qualify for the second round. Hegge, who was in a 6-way tie for 38th, tees off tomorrow at 7:48 a.m. In the 4A girls competition Raven Mackenna Clark shot a 97 and did not make the cut for day two.
