Auburn Mountainview senior Maddie Taylor grabbed a share of second place in the girls 3A high jump Thursday at the state track and field championships at Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma.

Auburn Mountainview senior Maddie Taylor grabbed a share of second place in the girls 3A high jump Thursday at the state track and field championships at Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma.

Taylor’s mark of 5 feet, 4 inches was a personal best. She finished tied with Holy Names Academy senior Olivia Vincent.

Andrea Stapleton, a junior from Kamiakin, won the event with a jump of 5-8.

In the girls 4A triple jump, Auburn Riverside junior Brittni Williams settled for second with a leap of 37-3 1/4.

Another South Puget Sound League North athlete, Tahoma senior Danielle Agoh, won the triple jump with a leap of 37-10 1/4.

Lion senior Rachel Greve was sixth in the girls 3A javelin with a throw of 118-7. First place was awarded to Kelso junior Mariah Horton (133-2).

Auburn Mountainview junior pole vaulter Keegan Provo finished 13th (12-0) in the boys 3A final.

Prairie senior Luke Middelstadt won the event with a vault of 15-5.

The state championship meet continues today and Saturday.
