Auburn Riverside beats Peninsula 2-0 in SPSL 3A opener | Baseball

Auburn Riverside senior Noah Freelund notched his first win of the season on Wednesday with a 2-0 decision against Peninsula in South Puget Sound League 3A action. Freelund lifted the Ravens (1-0 league, 2-1 overall) with his 5.2 innings of work from the bump, facing 21 batters and giving up just three hits while striking out 10.

Offensively Gavin Hettinger’s two RBI single in the first inning was all the scoring Auburn Riverside needed to move by the Seahawks (0-1, 1-4).

Kenny Miller added a double and a run and Freelund also scored for the Ravens.

Auburn Riverside faces Peninsula again at 4 p.m. Friday in Gig Harbor.
