Auburn Riverside smashes Spanaway Lake 19-3; Auburn Mountainview slips by North Thurston 10-9 | Baseball

The Auburn Riverside baseball team capitalized on six Spanaway Lake errors this past Wednesday, scoring 19 runs on just 11 hits in a 19-3 nonleague blowout. The Ravens were lead by sophomore shortstop Nick Minteer who was 3-of-3 from the dish with four RBIs and a home run. Senior Jordan Hudson added four runs on 2-of-3 hitting. Ryan Adams added two hits, three runs and a double.

On the mound, junior John Hakala threw four innings with five strikeouts, earning the win.

The Ravens gave up just four hits and committed two errors.

Auburn Riverside travels to Bethel at 4 p.m.today and will play at Emerald Ridge at 4 p.m. Friday.

ELSEWHERE: The defending South Puget Sound League 3A champion Auburn Mountainview Lions held off North Thurston 10-9 in a nonleague game on Wednesday. Mountainview threw five pitchers at the Rams, with Brandon Williams, Steven Johnson, TJ Zabriskie, Jacob Phillips and Joey Morgan all getting time on the mound. Zabriskie, who had three strikeouts, earned the win for his three innings of work with Phillips earning the save with four strikeouts. Offensively the Lions had 14 hits, with Anthony Thompson going 3-of-4 with three RBIs and a double. Morgan was 3-of-5 with an RBI and Phillips had a triple and two RBIs on 4-of-3 hitting. Williams chipped in with a home run.

The Lions play at Lakes today at 4 p.m. and will host Franklin Pierce at 6 p.m. Friday.
