Auburn Youth Soccer crowned a new champion last weekend.

Synergy BU-14 defeated the Chinook Fire 95 Sparks from Vancouver, Wash., 2-0, Sunday morning at Starfire Sports Complex Stadium in Tukwila to capture the Washington State Challenge Cup.

Synergy scored quickly in the first period and never trailed. Aggressive play and strong defense were keys to the win.

“Last year (coach Tom Persons) and I didn’t see how you boys could get any better, and now here we are champions,” emotional coach Steve Flint addressed his team after the championship win.
