The Auburn boys basketball squad ended its season on Tuesday, losing 52-38 to Curtis in the West Central District III/Southwest District 4 tournament at Auburn High School.
The Trojans (13-11) struggled out of the gate, scoring only two points in the first quarter and finding themselves down 30-11 at the half.
Although the team came alive in the third quarter, scoring 18 points in the frame, it was unable to catch the Vikings (20-4).
JJ Ruffin led Auburn with a game-high 22 points, Marquise Prader added eight, and Jason Momi and Rio Paul put in three points each. Dartrae Menster had two points.
Ashanti Potts-Woods led Curtis with 18 points.
The Trojans finished the regular season with a 10-6 South Puget Sound League North 4A record, good enough for fourth-place. Next season the team drops to the 3A classification and will likely play in a revamped SPSL 3A division against Auburn Riverside and Auburn Mountainview.
