Day one results from Washington State 3A and 4A boys and girls track and field championships, Mountainview’s Lexi Morton posts fastest 100 hurdles qualifying time with 14.77 | Track and Field

Auburn Mountainview senior Alexi Morton posted the fastest qualifying time in the girls 100-meter hurdles on Friday with a 14.77-second finish. Morton will compete for the state title in the event finals today at 6 p.m.

Also for Mountainview, sophomore Marissa Paopao grabbed third place in the discus with a 120-feet, 4-inch toss. The event was won by Columbia River’s Anna Adamko with a 126-11 throw.

In the high jump, Alia Braboy finished 15th overall with a 4-08.00 jump. The event was won by Sasha Weber from Timberline, who had a 5-08.00.

The Lion girls 4×200 relay team of Whitney Echols, Maya Wagers, Alayna Wagers and Erika Lombardo failed to qualify in their event, posting a 14th place 1:47.25. West Valley Yakima’s team was first in the prelims with a 1:42.57.

In the 4A girl’s competition Auburn Riverside’s Rachel Atwood was fifth in the 3,200 with a 11:02.81. The event was won by Garfield’s Anna Dailey who had a 10:28.91.

Teammate Korey Krotzer finished 13th in the 4A boys 3,200 with a 9:33.85. Central Kitsap’s Shane Moskowitz ran away with the title with a 8:59.27.

Auburn’s Danny Shelton was fifth in the shot put with a 55-01.00 throw. The event was won by Sam Wright from Mead who had a 56-10.75.

The meet continues today and tomorrow at Mt. Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma.
