Despite slow start, Raven girls crush Bethel 59-27 for SPSL 4A crown | Girls Basketball

The No. 1 ranked Auburn Riverside girls basketball team ran their unbeaten streak to 21-0 with a 59-27 victory over the Bethel Braves in the South Puget Sound League 4A title game this past Thursday.

Playing under the big lights at the Showare Center in Kent, the Ravens (16-0 league, 21-0 overall) overcame a slow first half that found them up just 16-12 at the half. Auburn Riverside managed to find their momentum in the second half, piling up 43 points and holding the SPSL South champion Braves (15-1, 16-5) to just 14 second half points.

Kat Cooper had a game-high 16 points for the Ravens with Mercedes Wetmore adding 14.

Auburn Riverside will head into next weeks West Central District tournament with the No. 1 seed out of the SPSL.
