FASTPITCH: Auburn Riverside softball downs Federal Way Eagles 12-1

The Ravens fastpitch squad had no trouble rolling over the hapless Federal Way Eagles (1-6 league, 1-7 overall) this Wednesday, notching a 12-1 win in five innings.

Alishia Jarman earned the win, giving up just five hits, one earned run and striking out seven Eagles. The win improves the Ravens to 5-1 in the South Puget Sound League North good enough for third-place. Auburn Riverside is 7-1 overall. The Ravens will travel to Jefferson (6-3, 8-3) for a 4 p.m. game on Friday.

ALSO: The Auburn fastpitch team fell 6-4 to Kentlake on Wednesday. Auburn was led by Alyssa Lonsbery who was 2-of-4 from the plate with an RBI and Amber Morrow who was 3-of-4 with two RBIs and a run. Nicole Kelsoe gave up nine hits and three earned runs in six innings and also added four strikeouts. Nicole Weber was awarded the win for Kentlake (7-1, 9-1). As a team the Trojans (3-5, 4-5) had six hits and four errors. Auburn will host Kent-Meridan (0-7, 0-7) at 3:30 p.m. Friday. … The Lady Lions were defeated 6-3 by Franklin Pierce (3-2, 4-2) in extra innings on Wednesday. Auburn Moutainview (4-3, 5-5) will travel to White River (0-5, 0-5) at 4 p.m. Friday.
