Get You sizzled six furlongs in 1:07 2/5 on a fast track Friday night while posting a two-length victory over heavily-favored Ernie Owl in the $13,100 Pepsi Purse for 3-year-olds and up.

Get You, ridden by Juan Gutierrez, paid $44.40, $12.40 and $8.60. Jim Penney is the trainer for owner Homestretch Farms Inc.

Ernie Owl, ridden by Anne Von Rosen, had his four-trace winning streak snapped yet still managed to run his third straight sub-1:08 clocking at the meet. Ernie Owl paid $3 and $2.60. It was 1-¼ lengths back to Carry On John, ridden by Kevin Krigger, and a $6.80 show payoff.

Get You opened a 2 ½-length lead while running the fastest opening quarter-mile of the meet—:21 2/5—and extended the margin to three lengths after a half-mile in :43 2/5. The lightly raced 6-year-old gelding straightened into the lane 3 ½ lengths clear of Ernie Owl, after running five furlongs in a blistering :55, and held sway to the wire.

A Washington-bred by Katwoice-Bag Person, Get You has a 6-2-1 mark in 16 starts with earnings of $58,110.

Earlier on the card, Get You’s younger sister—Squeallin By ($4.20) — improved to three-for-three lifetime with a neck victory under regular rider A.L. Gutierrez. By Petersburg-Bag Person, Squeallin By also is the trained by Penney for Homestretch Farms Inc. It was the second time this season both Get You and Squeallin By won races on the same card.

Penney is now 24-for-90 at the meet—26.7 percent—and has moved into third-place all-time with 482 wins at Emerald Downs.

ALSO: Washington-bred Atta Boy Roy finished second as the 11-to-10 betting favorite Friday night in the $125,000 Iowa Sprint Handicap at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa.

Majesticperfection, ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan, set a track and stakes record of 1:07.24 while finishing 4 ¾-lengths ahead of Atta Boy Roy. The winner set fractions of :21.53, :43.48 and :55.11 en route to his fourth victory in five career starts.

Majesticperfection, a 4-year-old Kentucky-bred by Harlan’s Holiday, paid $8.20, $2.80 and $2.60. Steve Asmussen is the trainer for owner Padua Stables.

Atta Boy Roy, ridden by Calvin Borel, was easily second best, and paid $2.80 and $2.20. The $25,000 second-place check second upped his earnings to $359,363. Trained by Valorie Lund, Atta Boy Roy has compiled a 9-6-0 record in 20 starts.

It was 6-½ lengths back to third-place finisher Cash Refund. Ridden by Brian Hernandez Jr., Cash Refund paid $2.40.

Emerald Downs-based Peaceful Reign finished in a dead-heat for fourth with Humble Destin and earned $5,000 for owner Jerry Maggard of Yakima.

Also Friday at Prairie Meadows, No Flies On Doodle finished sixth in the $100,000 Saylorville Stakes for fillies and mares at six furlongs.

Ridden by Gallyn Mitchell, No Flies On Doodle was in fourth place on the backstretch, but she began to tire on the turn and faded to last in the stretch run. A 4-year-old Washington-bred owned by Keith Swagerty and trained by Vann Belvoir, No Flies On Doodle is three-for-three at Emerald Downs this season including triumphs in the Hastings Handicap and Washington State Legislators Stakes.

Secret Gypsy, ridden by Jamie Theriot, won the Saylorville by 4 ¾-lengths in 1:08.28 for six furlongs. Trained by Ronny Werner, Secret Gypsy paid $6.20.

Personality Kid, also ridden by Mitchell and trained by Belvoir, finished second, beaten a nose, by 32-to-1 long shot Commander Evil in Friday’s first race at Prairie Meadows.

NOTES: 2004 Horse of the Meeting Demon Warlock officially became a sire Friday when first-time starter Winter Warlock ($8.40) prevailed by 1 ¾ lengths in the second race. With Kevin Krigger riding for trainer Tim McCanna, Winter Warlock ran 4 ½ furlongs in :51 1/5 on a fast track…Krigger has ridden seven winners in the last five racing days…Apprentice Pedro Terrero shook off a recent slump with three victories on Friday’s eight-race card and tied Gallyn Mitchell for third place at 36 wins apiece…Leading rider Ricky Frazier drew a rare blank but still leads Juan Gutierrez by a 42-38 margin in the standings…Olympic Lights was claimed for $17,500 from the seventh race by trainer Doris Harwood for owner Shady Valley Ranch.
