Auburn Mountainview High School’s Lexie Koester, girls soccer, was selected the Auburn Reporter’s Female Athlete of the Week.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Science with Mr. Colburn (and Mr. Kinkead at Cascade).

Q: What other activities do you participate in?

A: I enjoy playing the piano and hanging out with my friends.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My inner circle of friends push me to be my best.

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: My friend Mackenzie and I have a handshake we do before games, and we do high knee jumps before games.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Be Alright” by Dean Lewis.

“Lexie committed herself this summer to coming to workouts and putting in hard work this season. We had three goalkeepers unavailable last week and Lexie stepped in, having never played a varsity or JV game at goalkeeper, and stunned Todd Beamer with a shutout win. In the 1-0 win, Lexie stopped all five shots on goal.” – coach Joey West
