Jefferson and Kentridge win in tennis action

The Thomas Jefferson (12-2) tennis team overpowered Tahoma (3-11) 4-1 on Oct. 14. Raider Joe Lee defeated Chris McCaffery, 6-2, 6-0 in No. 1 singles. Jefferson swept the doubles matches, with No. 1 doubles Makoa Rosa and Kainoa Rosa defeating David Mahoney and Alex Costanzo, 6-1, 6-2 and No. 2 doubles Branden Muraki and Ty Garceau beating Mike Croft and Austen Hiatt, 7-5, 6-2. The No. 3 Jefferson doubles team of Brandyn Gomez and Anthony Tomyn were also victorious over Tahoma’s Gage Goranson and Griffin Wood, 6-1, 6-2.

The Bears’ lone win came in No. 2 singles with Ryan Goranson defeating Kyle Creek, 3-6, 6-3, 10-7. ALSO: Kentridge improved to a perfect 14-0 with a 4-1 victory over Kentwood Oct. 14. Sahil Diwan beat Andrew Moon, 6-2, 6-2 in No. 2 singles. Paul Yi and Vineeth Omkaram were victorious in No. 1 doubles, as were No. 2 doubles Garrett Ballou and Vincent Lin and No. 3 doubles Donald Hall and Kevin Ly. Kentwood’s Max Manthou defeated Matt Overland, 6-2, 6-1 in No. 1 singles.
