Jensen earns top honors at Seattle Chapter’s Scholar-Athlete Awards ceremony

Auburn Mountainview’s Gresch Jensen won Back of the Year honors at the Seattle Chapter’s 50th annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet at CenturyLink Field on Feb. 27.

The event acknowledged the accomplishments of SeattleKing County high school football players. The banquet hosted 97 players and their coaches.

The top Back and Lineman were each awarded $2,000 scholarships.

The University of Montana-bound Jensen, a 6-foot-3, 212-pound quarterback, threw for 2,922 yards and 30 touchdowns in leading the Lions to an 8-3 season and a berth in the state Class 3A playoffs last season.

Additional Back finalists were Dylan Axelson (Woodinville), Zachary Hasson (Renton) and Eric Kim (Mercer Island).

Kentlake’s David Morasch took Lineman of the Year honors.

Other Linemen finalists were Eron Kross (Bellevue), Christopher Orrico (Newport) and Jonathan Osman (Mercer Island).
