Auburn Mountainview's Kayla Porter captured the all-around with a 37.1-point total at this past Wednesday's all-Auburn gymnastics meet at Auburn Riverside High School.

Auburn Mountainview’s Kayla Porter captured the all-around with a 37.1-point total at this past Wednesday’s all-Auburn gymnastics meet at Auburn Riverside High School.

Porter’s efforts lifted the Lions to the team win with 149 points. Mount Rainier finished second with 143, Auburn was third with 141 and Auburn Riverside fourth with 139 points.

Porter finished first in three events – the vault with a score of 9.3, the beam (9.5) and the bars (9.2) – and was tied for third in the floor exercise with a 9.1 performance.

Auburn Riverside’s Tayler Johnston was second all-around (34.05).

Mount Rainier’s Ava Welch – who was third in the all-around (33.35) – grabbed first in the floor exercise (9.35).

Hailey Sagmoen of Mount Rainer was fourth all-around (32.45), with the Ravens’ Luba Migdal fifth (31.5).

The South Puget Sound League 3A sub-regional meet is Feb. 7 with the district meet getting under way Feb. 14. Both meets are at Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines.

The state 3A championship is Feb. 20-21 at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.
