Kentwood conquers Riverside 13-2, Trojans felled by Eagles 7-6, Mountainview beat by Spartans 7-4 | Baseball

The Auburn Riverside baseball squad was dealt its fourth defeat of the season on Friday, falling 13-2 to Kentwood.

The Conquerors (3-0) unloaded in the fifth inning, pushing 10 runs across to put away the South Puget Sound League North 4A victory.

Sophomore Michael Rucker had a double for the Ravens (3-4) with junior Kell Garisson notching two hits in two at bats

Sophomore Kai Uwaine was tagged with the loss and Kentwood’s Avery Kane earned the win.

The Ravens’ contest this afternoon against Kentridge is postponed, new date to be announced. Auburn Riverside will host district rival Auburn at 3:30 tomorrow.

Elsewhere: The Auburn Trojans (2-2) baseball team was denied in it’s quest to earn it’s first SPSL North 4A win on Friday, falling 7-6 to Federal Way. Travis Hagel led the team, notching three RBIs off a triple in the second inning. Senior Marshall Klontz was the losing pitcher. The Trojans will travel to Auburn Riverside at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, and will host Kent-Meridian at 4 p.m. Wednesday… The Auburn Mountainview (4-2) squad were handed their second straight SPSL 3A loss in a row this past Friday, falling 7-4 to Sumner. Pitcher Jacob Phillips was roughed up for six runs in the third inning and was the losing pitcher. Phillips was also 2-for-4 from the plate with an RBI and run scored. Cameron Steffey earned the win, giving up three hits and striking out eight in seven innings. The Lions’ game today, at Enumclaw was postponed.
