Komar makes strong case for roster spot on Arizona Cardinals

Auburn Riverside and University of Idaho grad Max Komar shines in Arizona Cardinal preseason games. Komar, and undrafted free agent, is hoping to catch on with the NFL as a wide receiver.

Former Auburn Riverside and University of Idaho wide receiver Max Komar is making some noise in the NFL.

Komar, a undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals, has made a case for a roster spot, showcasing his receiving skills in both of the Cardinal’s preseason games and catching the Cardinals only touchdown in Monday night’s 24-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Quarterback Max Hall found Komar in the middle of the field at the 9-yard line, and Komar split a pair of defenders to get the score. Komar finished the game with three catches for 48 yards.

In the Cardinals first game of the preseason, Komar helped spark a Cardinal comeback against the Houston Texans with a 36-yard catch along the sidelines. Komar finished that game with two catches for 42 yards.

The 5-foot-11, 202 pound Komar is hoping to catch on with the Cardinals as the team’s No. 5 receiver, likely at the slot position, a spot he excelled at as a senior in college, gaining 1,052 yards and 11 touchdowns on 63 catches.
