Trojans led throughout the contest until they surrendered four late goals to suffer a 9-8 setback Thursday at Enumclaw

ENUMCLAW — Auburn led for most of the match until the Trojans surrendered four late goals to suffer a 9-8 setback Thursday at Enumclaw in a boys water polo match.

The Hornets trailed Auburn throughout the game, and the Trojans held an 8-5 advantage through most of the final quarter. Kyle Morgan narrowed the lead with 3 minutes, 6 seconds left in the game, and Nathan March brought the Hornets within a goal at 2:16. Morgan scored again to tie the game with 27 seconds left, and March finished off the Trojans with a goal with 6 seconds remaining.

The Hornets were led by March’s four goals. Morgan scored three, and senior Evan O’Neill added two. Junior goalkeeper Brett Butler tallied 13 saves.

Ben Schwab and John Villandry each scored three goals for Auburn, while teammate John McHugh scored two.
