Several local South Puget Sound League North 4A athletes were named to the Washington State Associated Press 4A all-state football teams.

From Auburn, senior lineman Kevin Shelton and senior defensive back Harold Lee earned nods to the first team defensive squad.

Also named to the first team defense was Kentwood senior defensive back Jackson Huerta.

From Federal Way, sophomore sensation Chico McClatcher was chosen to the first team special team as an all-purpose player.

Also from Federal Way, senior defensive back D’Londo Tucker was named to the second team defense.

Senior kicker Mitchell Cox from Kentwood rounded out local selections with a berth on the second team special teams.

Skyline’s senior quarterback Max Browne was named the Washington State AP Player of the Year.

The 2012 Associated Press Class 4A all-state football team voting was organized by the Yakima Herald-Republic and chosen by sports writers around the state.
