Mountainview stumbles against Enumclaw 7-1, looks to rebound this week and earn spot in SPSL 3A/Seamount sub-district tourney beginning May 7 in Kent | Baseball

The Auburn Mountainview baseball team fell 7-1 to first-place Enumclaw in South Puget Sound League 3A action on Friday.

The Lions (8-6 league, 9-7 overall) fell to fifth-place in the SPSL 3A with the loss.

Enumclaw’s (11-2, 12-4) Marcus Madden was awarded the win with a four-hit complete game with three strikeouts and two walks.

Mountainview’s Brandon Williams was tagged with the loss.

The Lions committed two errors in the field and gave up 11 hits to the Hornets.

Mountainview will close out their season this week with games against Peninsula (5-8, 5-8) at 7 p.m., Tuesday at Auburn Mountainview High School and at Clover Park (0-14, 0-14) at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

South Puget Sound League 3A/Seamount sub-district tourney information: The top-five teams from the SPSL 3A and Seamount leagues will square off in the sub-district tourney beginning May 7 at Russell Road Fields in Kent and continuing May 8 at Auburn Mountainview High School. Nine of the 10 teams will move on to the West Central District tourney, beginning May 11. The SPSL and Seamount No. 4s will play at 4 p.m. May 7 at Russell Road, with the No. 3 seeds playing at 7 p.m. On May 8, the No. 5 seeds from both leagues will play at 1 p.m. at Mountainview, in a loser-out contest. The No. 2 seeds will play at 4 p.m. with the No. 1 seeds playing at 7 p.m.
