Olympic medalist to promote BMX racing in area

Jill Kintner, Olympic BMX racing medalist from Kirkland, will be returning to the home track where she grew up racing to meet local boys and girls who would like to try the sport.

Kinter will appear at the North SeaTac BMX Park, 1811 South 136th Street, SeaTac, at noon Saturday.

The public is invited to get Kinter’s autograph, hear about her Olympic efforts, and try out BMX racing for free – even ride with her in the traditional flag lap during the National Anthem.

BMX racing will follow the beginner clinic, racing to start around 3 p.m. New riders will race others their own age and skill.

All kids who race will receive a medal. The first 50 kids to arrive will receive a commemorative T-shirt which Kintner can autograph.

The City of SeaTac is installing a new flag pole at the park in honor of Jill and her late father, Peter Kintner.

North SeaTac BMX Club is a non-profit organization.
