Raven girls, paced by Rachel Atwood’s second-place finish, place sixth in team competition at sub-districts; Auburn’s Anna deCarteret finishes fifth | Cross Country

The Auburn Riveride girls scored 177 team points to finish sixth at the South Puget Sound League 4A Sub-District Cross Country meet last Saturday at Fort Steilacoom State Park in Lakewood.

Ravens junior Rachel Atwood was second in the race, posting a 18-minute, 42.6-second time. Federal Way’s Jasmine Johnson finished the course with a blistering 18:34.0 time to take home first place.

Ravens senior Emily Morisawa was 20th with a 20:10.3 time and Lauren Saunders grabbed 25th with a 20:26.27 time.

Also competing for Riverside were freshman Rachel Covey, senior Amanda Lund, junior Jillian Stanphill and senior Tralayna Haslett.

The Raven girls will compete in the Westside Classic district meet this Saturday at American Lake Golf Course in Lakewood. The girls 4A competition begins at 1:30 p.m.

ALSO: Sophomore Anna deCarteret finished fifth at the sub-district meet, turning in a 19:19.9 finish. Junior teammate Kelly Grant was 22nd with a 20:15.4. Also competing for the Trojans were Anna Starr, Kimberly Anderson, Madeleine Jones, Nicole Cramer and Alexis Moore … Auburn Mountainview’s Taylor Alfrey finished 17th overall at the SPSL 3A sub-district meet at Fort Steilacoom, finishing with a 21:17.5 time.
