Records fall as Raven trio advances to state powerlifing stage

Auburn Riverside had three students advance to the Washington State Powerlifting Championships conducted in Montesano on May 1.

Grant Storer won his weight class and also was awarded the most outstanding lifter in both the squat and dead lift. Competing in the 132-pound weight class, Storer set a state record with a squat of 475 pounds.

Grant’s younger brother, Torey, also placed first in the 114-pound weigh class, lifting a combined total of 705 pounds, while Stephen Coggin came in second in the 114-weight class, lifting a combined total of 680 pounds.

The Raven’s three-man team placed fourth at the competition.
