BASEBALL

AUBURN PARKS YOUTH PROGRAMS

Programs are being offered for players in grades 3-12. PINTO is for grades 3-4. The cost is $45 for Auburn residents and $54 for non-residents. Practices begin the week of March 30, with a jamboree on April 25 and an eight-game schedule beginning April 27. BRONCO NATIONAL is for Grade 5, and BRONCO AMERICAN is for Grade 6. The cost is $50 for Auburn residents and $60 for non-residents. Practices begin the week of March 30, with a jamboree on April 25 and a 10-game schedule beginning April 27. PONY is for grades 7-8, and COLT is for grades 9-12. The cost is $60 for Auburn residents and $75 for non-residents, and is due by April 29, with an additional $10 fee for registrations received after that date. AUBURN PARKS CUB CLINIC

This program is for boys and girls in Grades 1-2 who attend a public or private school within the Auburn and/or Dieringer school district boundaries. It is a six-week coed instructional machine-pitch program emphasizing fun, fundamentals and sportsmanship. The clinic, including practices and games, is on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $30 for Auburn residents and $38 for non-residents, and is due by May 6, with an additional $10 for registrations received after that date. PEPSI PITCH, HIT & RUN

This national program will make a stop at Kent’s Wilson Playfields on Tuesday, April 7 (during spring break), with warm-up at 9:30 a.m. and competition at 10 a.m. It is open to boys and girls ages 7-14 and is free. 15U BANDITS

This club is looking to fill its final two roster spots (one pitcher, and one position player with a strong bat) for the 2009 summer tournament season. The Bandits will play 5-7 tournaments throughout the spring and summer. Practice will be in the Puyallup/Sumner/Federal Way area. EVERGREEN STATE SPORTS

The organization is accepting NEW PLAYER REQUESTS for interviews for admission into its developmental programs. Teams currently seeking to fill rosters are 9-U, 11-U, 12-U, 13-U, 15/16-U, and 18-U. Team and individual sessions are available. The club is forming new 8- and 10-year-old teams to join its 12, 14, 16 and 18 age squads. Teams have limited spots available. The Sno-King Junior Thunderbirds will offer a year-round, beginners-level program for boys and girls ages 5-10. No skating experience is necessary. LEARN TO SKATE CLASSES

An eight-week series with group and private lessons for boys, girls and adults is being offered at KENT VALLEY ICE CENTRE. Instruction is based on criteria set forth by the Ice Skating Institute. AUBURN PARKS ADULT TOURNAMENT

A tournament for men’s, women’s and coed teams is being offered by Auburn Parks for teams which would like to get in a few games before the season begins. The tournament will be used to train new umpires and scorekeepers. Game balls will provided. Each team is guaranteed three games. The entry fee is $75. Teams will pay the umpire $10 prior to each game. The men’s tournament is April 6, 7 and 9; the women’s and the coed are April 7-8. All games will be at Auburn’s Game Farm Park. AUBURN POOL

The pool offers several programs. PUBLIC SWIMS are available Monday through Friday from 1-3 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. at $2.75 for adults and $2.25 for youths. LAP SWIMS are scheduled for Monday through Friday from 6-8 a.m., noon-1 p.m. and 8-9 p.m. at $3.75 for adults and $2.75 for youths. LESSONS are available on a Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday basis from 5:30-7 p.m., and on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-noon. Prices depend on age. This program is for boys and girls, ages 5-7, who are beginning players. Lessons will take place on the courts at Auburn High School, 700 E. Main. WATER POLO

AUBURN RIVERSIDE CAMP

The Ravens are sponsoring a middle school camp for boys and girls during spring break (April 6-11) to help raise funds for the team and promote the game. Cost is $30. The camp will be held Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, 3-6 p.m. To sign up, please call 253-229-7643. The camp will be coached by the ARHS boys team. It will be a basic introduction to water polo and will include learning drills, technique and scrimmages. There will be a mini-tournament on Saturday to finish out the week.
