Riverside’s Kat Cooper earns AP all-state nod | Girls Basketball

The honors keep coming for Auburn Riverside senior Kat Cooper who was selected to the Associated Press Washington State 4A first team all-star basketball squad this week.

Cooper, a 6-foot forward who will play for Boston College next season, led the 21-5 Ravens with a 19 points per game average this season.

Cooper will also represent Washington in the Northwest Shootout against the Oregon all-stars this Saturday at the Chiles Center in Portland.

Also selected to the AP 4A first team squad from the South Puget Sound League was Federal Way’s Talia Walton. Walton, who led the Eagles to a second place finish at the state 4A tourney this season, was also honored as the AP’s 4A Girls Player of the Year.

Kentwood’s Kylie Huerta earned an honorable mention.
