This past Friday the Auburn Trojans stretched their home winning streak to 40 with a 42-7 postseason win over Kamiak at Auburn Memorial Stadium.
Despite the loss of three players to suspension, including Washington-bound senior Chris Young, the team’s leading rusher and starting free safety, the No. 3 ranked Trojans (10-0) proved they are still a force to be reckoned with by torching the Knights (4-6) for 478 rushing yards.
Junior running backs Austin Embody and Alphonse Wade picked up the slack in the backfield, with Embody rushing for a career-high 220 yards and scoring four touchdowns on 20 attempts. Wade, who missed part of the game with leg cramps, added 148 yards on 15 carries with two TDs.
Defensively Auburn shutdown Kamiak, allowing just 98 yards of total offense.
The Trojans will host Marysville-Pilchuk (10-0) at Auburn Memorial Stadium this weekend, with time and date to be announced.
