• WHAT: Washington State championship gymnastics meet.

• WHEN: Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20 and 21. Events begin at 9 a.m. on Friday and noon. on Saturday.

• WHERE: Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.

• ADMISSION: One-day pass; Students with ASB, $10; Adults $14; Elementary school students $10; Senior citizens $10. Two-day pass; Students with ASB, $16; Adults $22; Elementary school students $16; Senior citizens $16.

• AT STAKE: The Washington State 4A gymnastics team and individual titles.

• FAVORITES: Defending state 4A champs Woodinville posted a 181.90 team score at the Sea-King 4A district meet. Also in the mix should be Puyallup and Kentlake.

• NOTABLE: Woodinville’s Hailey Wells finished fourth at the 2008 4A championship meet. She posted a 37.875 all-around at the district meet this past Saturday. … Puyallup’s Katie Bubnich and Emerald Ridge’s Whitney Sidor both placed in the top-ten all-around at last year’s championship meet. … Kent-Meridian’s Nora Keith and Kentlake’s Brianne Gould were the area’s top placers in 2008, finishing 34th and 35th respectively. … This year’s 4A championship will be the first for Kentlake’s Kayla Shira, who turned out for her high school for the first time this season. Shira is a Level 10 gymnast with Auburn Gymnastics. … Auburn Riverside’s Rebecca Turnbow will compete in the all-around competition.
