Weeldreyer, Lions top Trojans; Ravens come up short to Hornets | NPSL Olympic baseball

Nate Weeldreyer struck out 15 and Willis Cresswell and Kamana Nahaku each drove in three runs to lead Auburn Mountainview to a 9-1 North Puget Sound League Olympic Division win over Auburn on Wednesday night.

The Lions are 6-2 in league, 7-7 overall. The Trojans fall to 3-6 and 3-11.

Weeldreyer allowed one run on four hits in 6⅔ innings of work. Blake Christensen got the final out for the save.

Cresswell went 2-for-3 with a double. Leadoff hitter Cooper White went 2-for-2 with a triple, an RBI, and three runs scored. Xiangyu Wu had a pair of hits and scored twice.

Jace Graves drove in Auburn’s lone run.

Carter Casad took the loss for Auburn. He allowed seven runs on six hits over four innings, striking out four.

The Lions host Todd Beamer at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Elsewhere

At Enumclaw 6, Auburn Riverside 4: The Hornets (5-2, 8-4) rallied for a pair of runs in the seventh inning to overcome the Ravens (4-5, 7-8) in NPSL Olympic play Wednesday.

Giovani Parascondola doubled and had two RBI. Sam Spicciati delivered an RBI for Auburn Riverside.

Ty Emmons took the loss, allowing six runs on five hits, striking out five and walking three in 6⅓ innings.
